Report a Violation

There are many activities that are restricted within Stonebridge to retain the beauty and safety that our residents enjoy. Because of these restrictions, Stonebridge is one of the safest neighborhoods in Jefferson Parish.

Some restrictions come from the legal covenants of Stonebridge neighborhood that all residents must abide to. Other restrictions are part of the Jefferson Parish Municipal Code. There are some restrictions defined under both. (see the table below)

Covenant violations are handled by the Stonebridge Property Owner’s Association. To report covenant violations or complaints to SPOA, or if you have questions, please send a message through the Ghertner portal.  Make sure to include the address of the violation, the date and time it occurred. Also make sure to attach photographs of the violation. The easiest way is to take pictures on your smartphone.

Code violations are handled by the Jefferson Parish Code Enforcement department. The process to address code violations is very easy, and results in an enforcement action usually within a few days. You can report a code violation online here; Note: You can also use that link to request or report Parish services such as street light outages or animal control services.

Below is a listing of the most common items, sorted by whether they are a code violation, or a covenant violation. If an item is both a covenant and a code violation, it will be listed on the code violation side, simply because enforcement of this violation is much easier and effective through the code enforcement office:

  • Cars parked on street overnight (11pm-6am)
  • Temporary Structures (i.e., sheds)
  • General Nuisances
  • Livestock, poultry, or other animals kept, bred, raised on property
  • Fallen/Damaged Brick Exterior wall to neighborhood
  • Improper fences
  • Above ground swimming pools
  • High grass in front or back
  • Trash / clutter/ brush on property
  • Window AC Units visible from street
  • Construction or renovation without SPOA ACC approval
  • Generator installation without SPOA ACC approval
  • Fishing, hunting, or trapping of any kind anywhere in Stonebridge
  • Trailers, Campers, RV, or Boats parked in driveway
  • Commercial vehicles or equipment parked in driveway

 
  • High grass in yard or vacant lot exceeding 8” in height
  • Trash and debris on the property
  • Inoperable/abandoned vehicles on the property
  • Signs in neighborhood or property (exceptions are real estate signs and builder signs on new construction)
  • Trailers, Campers, RV, or Boats parked in driveway
  • Commercial vehicles or equipment parked in driveway
  • Stagnant water (mosquito abatement service)
  • Brush or branches or trash on curb for more than a week
  • Un-permitted construction or renovations
  • House vacant / boarded > 6 months
  • Anything that blocks or impedes utility servitude or parish property or drainage
  • Operating a commercial business or daycare in a residential property
  • Short term rentals of residential homes
